Today is Friday glorious Friday with a three day weekend sprawling ahead. I find myself sitting here today, realizing that my online presence has been minimal over the past few weeks. Since Jimmy transitioned to his summer schedule and is now home at night, we've been taking on more projects and staying up later. An increase in day time, however, has not increased my down time. I hope to return to more regularity in the coming days/weeks.
We have many plans for our Urban Farmhouse this summer (and in the future). We are planning to install ceiling fans in the sun room, living room, three bedrooms (one of which is the sewing room). We want to replace the glass block windows in our basement unit with real windows. We are also looking forward to cutting out three of the windows in the sun room and replacing them with sliding glass doors to access our (hopefully quickly finished) deck. More long term plans include converting our first floor half bathroom to a full bathroom, renovating the entire upstairs and the kitchen (which will be last).
Right now, we are immersed in the rebuilding of our deck. It has taken a solid three weeks to deconstruct that baby and we've just turned the corner to construction. Finished pictures to come soon. These are pictures from our very first day of deconstruction ::
In greenie bean news :: I've been working on a new website which I've finished, but am still in the process of purchasing the domain name and web hosting space. You can visit it in this space if you like! I would love to hear your thoughts. I've also finished up a handful of more totes, am preparing more for construction, and am working on a 75 tote custom order.
I've made a return to cooking with Red home at night and have tried out some new recipes including a Spicy Onion and Bell pepper in Yogurt Sauce over Cornbread and oven baked sweet potato chips from Farmer John's Cookbook: The Real Dirt on Vegetables. I adore this cookbook!
My mom is coming in this weekend for her birthday.
Have a lovely Memorial Day weekend and see you Monday.
