So it has been a weird week. Three really cool people that I respect very much are leaving Chicago. This is a new feeling to me as I am usually the one who is doing the leaving. I left Cuba, I left for Romania, I left Monmouth, and I moved to Chicago. I feel that I have reached a peak of where I am going at this point in my life, but some are working toward a higher peak.
My wonderful co-worker, Erin (I hope you're reading this) ended her career with WilPower on Monday and will soon be relocating to Pittsburgh. Although not too close with her, someone I would like to get to know better as we have so many common interests. Jess, Jimmy's fellow Greece companion, will be traveling to Peru before settling in for school in Boston.
And finally, my girl Molly, a wonderfully dear friend I met during my bartending days at Gio's is nearly on her way to fulfilling her dream . . . peace corps in South Africa. While I am so proud of you, you zoo-drinking hippy, it is so difficult to have such a great friend and person move out of your life, even if it is temporary. Molly is a true inspiration to me :: in creating, dreaming, and thinking radically. She is such a tactile person and I will miss her spontaneity and feeling instantly refreshed when she's in the room. Keep up-to-date with her travels abroad.
Despite the sadness, I was refreshed today by the lovely, lovely sunshine at the Glenview Water Park that we went to for work. Sunscreen and waterslides was a lovely way to spend a Friday afternoon.
